Mounts zijn een transportmiddel waar spelers op verschillende beesten en voertuigen kunnen rijden. Met mounts worden meestal beesten genoemd maar kunnen ook voertuigen zijn zoals een motor of een raket. Als je rijdt, rij je meestal op de rug van het beest of voertuig. Warlocks, Paladins en Death Knights kunnen hun eigen beest oproepenmet een speciale spreuk. Het rijden op een mount is meestal sneller dan normaal lopen en sinds de uitbreiding van de Burnin Crusade, zijn er extra mounts bij gekomen waarop je kunt vliegen.
Mounts waren in het verleden erg duur maar zijn inmiddels al verlaagd en de training verhoogd is,om de prijzen in evenwicht te houden.

Om een Mount te berijden hebt moet je eerste een training volgen. Er zijn verschillende soorten trainingen waarvoor je elk verschillende benodigdheden. Hieronder staan de minimale benodigdheden om alleen de riding skill te laten trainen.

Als je de eerste training hebt gevolgd kun je een mount kopen(60%speed)kopen. Net als de training kost een mount veel geld. Er zijn ook verschillende soorten mounts die je kunt kopen. Als je de eerste training hebt gevolgd, kan je alleen de 60% mounts gebruiken

voor de training en 10 voor al een mount. Rare Ground Mounts geven 60% extra snelheid dan normaal. Je krijgt de extra snelheid alleen als je op de mount rijdt.

Journeyman rijden skill (150) kost 600 voor opleiding en een extra 100 voor de mount, beide gereduceerd door de bevoegde reputatie korting. ((kwaliteit | epische | Mount # Epic grond mounts | Epic grond mounts)) verhogen de snelheid met 100%.
Een vroegere level 55 Death Knight, kunnen hun epic ground mount, de Acherus Deathcharger, monteren na de voltooiing van de quests Grand Theft Palomino en Into The Realm of Shadows.

Elke ras heeft zijn eigen mount, maar andere rassen kunnen deze mounts ook berijden met het juiste level en status.
Voor patch 3.0.8, kan elk ras nu bepaalde mounts rijden. Na de update kon elk ras elke mount berijden met de juiste level en status.

The BlizzCon Mounts comes from the BlizzCon Welcome packages. The mounts must first be unlocked using a code found on the Blizzard Convention Card, the NPC's for unlocking the mounts can be found in Valley of Honor, Orgrimmar if you are Horde or in Forlorn Cavern, Ironforge if Alliance.
